Lowest jobless claims in 3 months

(CNN)– First-time unemployment claims last week fell to their lowest level in three months.

Compared to the week before there were seven-thousand fewer filings for unemployment insurance.

The Labor Department says it’s the first time in three years there have been five-straight weeks of declining filings.

However, data also reveals that jobless claims made by federal workers are on the rise.

That’s in the wake of the Trump Administration’s ongoing effort to make deep cuts in the government workforce including the Department of Education.
