SCHP: 2 dead, multiple people injured after multi-vehicle wreck on I-26 east in Calhoun

 

 

CALHOUN COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– SC troopers say two people are dead and multiple are injured in a multi-vehicle wreck on I-26 east in Calhoun on Wednesday, July 16.

According to investigators, after 5 p.m. the driver of a 2013 Chevy Sedan traveling west near mile marker 120 ran off the road, struck a cable barrier and went into the eastbound lane.

That driver then struck a 2018 GMC SUV which caused both of them to hit four other vehicles.

Both drivers of the Sedan and GMC SUV died while five people from three of the vehicles involved were injured.

The incident remains under investigation.
