Early voting period open through Friday in Town of Blythewood’s special election
BLYTHEWWOOD, S.C. (WOLO)– The early voting period is still open through Friday in the Town of Blythewood’s special election over changing its form of government.
Town officials say the mayor-council form they’re currently using gives the mayor administrative power to prepare and submit the budget, to appoint or remove employees among other responsibilities.
But under the council-manager form the mayor has no administrative power, and the council has all legislative and policy powers with the manager heading the administrative branch.
The special election starts Tuesday, July 29, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
