PBS documentary will highlight World War Two’s Atomic Veterans

 

 

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A new PBS documentary will highlight World War Two’s Atomic Veterans.

The soldiers who were eyewitnesses to the devastation in the immediate aftermath of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Wednesday, July 23, one of those veterans, Larry Pressley, was honored by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Unit with an Atomic Veterans Commemorative Service Medal.

Organizers of today’s ceremony say the honor is long overdue.

The documentary Atomic Echoes: Untold Stories of World War Two will air on public television stations beginning the week of August 1st.
