13-year-old arrested in connection with a series of auto entries, says sheriff

NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Newberry County Sheriff Lee Foster says a 13-year-old has been arrest in connection with a series of unlawful auto entries.

Investigators say between late Thursday night and early Monday morning 11 vehicles were entered in the Glenn Street extension area adjacent to the City of Newberry.

The vehicles were ransacked and various small items were removed.

Also, investigators say none of the vehicles were broken into, and that the teen went around and found unlocked vehicles to enter.

Nine of the vehicles were in the county and two were in the city limits.

The teen was taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
