Funeral announced for victim of fire truck wreck

(CNN)– The person who died in a collision that involved a Columbia-Richland Fire truck this month will be laid to rest this weekend.

Leevy’s Funeral Home says they’ll host the viewing of 64-year-old Carolyn Collins Friday, July 24, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Taylor Street.

Her funeral is this Saturday, July 25, at 2 p.m. at the First Nazareth Baptist Church on Gervais Street.

According to investigators, on July 12, the fire truck had its lights and sirens on while heading to a house fire when it and Collins’ vehicle collided on Two Notch Road.

She died at the scene while four firefighters and another person were injured.
