COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– City of Columbia’s Parks and Recreation Department will close the north end of Riverfront Park, said officials.

Officials said the north end of Riverfront Park at 4122 River Drive will be closed from Monday, July 28, through Friday, August 15.

It will reopen to the public on Saturday, August 16.

The closure is necessary to allow contractors to remove and pour concrete on the lower trail near the north end of the park, according to city officials.

Guests are encouraged to visit the south end of Riverfront Park at 312 Laurel Street, Granby Park at 100 Catawba St. or the Saluda Riverwalk at 650 Candi Lane during the closure.
