One dead, one injured in Sunday shooting

Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Richland Co. deputies are investigating a Sunday murder.

Investigators say they responded to a shots fired call around 5:30 in the afternoon to the 1600 block of Devonwood Dr.

While there, investigators say they received reports of buildings hit by gunfire on Longcreek Dr. and Grays Inn Rd.

At that point, deputies say they received a report of a person with a gunshot wound on Bentley Court.

When they arrived deputies say they found a victim with gunshot wounds to his upper body.

He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The Richland Co. Coroner identified the victim as Laneef Mingo, 21, of Columbia.

A second victim was found at the hospital, their injuries were not life threatening.
