LCSD: Batesburg man arrested after two-day search

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Lexington County deputies say a Batesburg man was arrested on Wednesday morning after a two-day search.

Investigators say deputies had been searching for the man since Tuesday afternoon, July 29.

“The search for Cordell Wyman  Clark, who was already a wanted subject in Aiken County, started with a shooting reported to us on Perry Taylor Road Tuesday afternoon,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon says.

Sheriff Koon says deputies searched for Clark on Tuesday and Wednesday until they received a tip stating he was at a home on Reedy O. Smith Road.

Deputies say as they approached the house, Clark ran out the back door.

“We brought in a K-9 and our drone team to track him,” says the sheriff.

Deputies and assisting SLED agents found Clark in a house in the 500 block of Perry Taylor Road.

“No one was injured or hit in the shooting; however, we are still looking into what happened, ” continues Sheriff Koon.
