Father, son charged in violent attack on woman

Sumter Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter Co. deputies say a father and son are charged in connection with a violent attack on a woman during a dispute on Old Pocalla Rd. on July 26th.

Deputies say they responded to a report of a shooting around 11 that night.

When they got there, deputies say, they found a woman lying in a yard with a gunshot wound and injuries from being hit with a baseball bat.

Investigators say the woman was able to identify Willie Sigler as the shooter, he was arrested after a short standoff.

Deputies say further investigation revealed Sigler’s son Gregory Sigler also took part in the attack.

Officials say the younger Sigler was arrested on July 30th during a traffic stop on a charge of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

Both suspects remain in custody.
