RCSD investigating weekend shooting, 1 taken to hospital

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County deputies are investigating a shooting that happened over the weekend, says RCSD.

Deputies say the shooting happened on Saturday, Aug. 16, around 6:30 p.m. in the area of Beatty Road and Kay Street.

RCSD says deputies were flagged down by multiple individuals in reference to an individual that was shot.

The adult victim was found in the area of Beatty Road and Kay Street with a gunshot wound to the lower body area.

Deputies rendered aid until EMS arrived to the scene.

The victim was taken to a local hospital.

Investigators say the suspect(s) fled prior to deputies’ arrival.
