Walmart sales jump as Target struggles

(CNN)– Two of the nation’s top retailers are heading in different directions.

Thursday, Aug. 21,  Walmart said its sales increased nearly 5% at U.S. stores that have been operating for at least a year.

The retailer also raised its 2025 sales outlook with groceries which was a big driver accounting for more than 50% of its overall sales.

Meanwhile, things are not on the mark for Target.

Earlier this week, the company said its sales dropped for the third time in as many quarters.
