Tesla faces federal investigation related to its self-driving technology

(CNN)– Tesla is facing yet another federal investigation related to its self-driving technology.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says it is looking into whether tesla delayed notifying the government about crashes involving the self-driving technology.

In a filing, the agency says Tesla is required to submit a report within 5 days of receiving notice of a crash.

Instead, the NHTSA says Tesla reported the crashes months after they happened.

The agency says Tesla has indicated it has fixed past problems collecting and reporting the data.
