Ai causes software shares to drop

(CNN)– Tech companies are giving us artificial intelligence, but ironically, the tech sector itself is among those now feeling the most pain from Ai.

Investors say the rise of Ai tools that can write and develop code is sending shares of software companies into a slump.

For example, shares in software giant salesforce are down 26% this year, and shares of Adobe are down 19% this year.

Investors say software as a service is a bread-and-butter business model that is now at risk of disruption because of Ai.
