Charleston Southern University will be hosting an open house Tuesday, in celebration of their new multi-million-dollar engineering building expansion.

This building expansion will serve as a home base for the schools aeronautical program, which is South Carolina’s only four-year collegiate program of its kind.

The facility will be equipped with a simulation lab with flight simulators, classrooms, labs, conference rooms, offices and an auditorium.

According to the school this expensive undertaking began it’s first phase in 2021. The initial space included classrooms, faculty offices, and general-purpose labs to house engineering students and faculty under one roof.

At the open house attendees will be able to explore the expansion and learn more about programs at the school.

The open house is free and open to the public, and will be held on Sept. 9 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Charleston Southern University’s Aeronautics and Engineering Building in the 1st floor lobby.
