2 displaced, 6 travel-trailers destroyed after fire at campgrounds
LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO)– Lexington County Fire Service responded to a reported vehicle fire Tuesday at Acapulco Campgrounds, said officials.
County officials said firefighters responded to the campgrounds around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9.
Upon firefighters arrival to the campgrounds, the responding battalion chief saw three travel trailers, one vehicle, and a 10-by-10 shed on fire.
Crews worked to contain the blaze, but fire officials confirmed a total of six travel trailers were completely destroyed.
One person was airlifted to the Augusta Burn Center for treatment, according to county officials.
Two individuals, including the person taken to the burn center were displaced as a result of the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
