Clemson University fires three employees following social media comments

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)–Clemson has fired two more employees for inappropriate comments on social media following the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
The announcement comes after the university fired another employee yesterday for the same reason.
Clemson University has drawn calls from donors, students, and political leaders to remove the employees due to comments made following the murder of the conservative activist.
South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson says Clemson University can fire employees for comments made after the death of Charlie Kirk without facing criminal charges.
Wilson says while the state’s “political firing” statute provides for potential civil claims, it does not create any criminal liability.
