School district employee arrested for gun on campus

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A Richland County School District Two employee has been arrested for having a gun at school, say deputies.
Richland County Sheriff’s Department say Crystal Gamble who is a district employee at Richland Northeast High School was arrested after she brought a firearm onto school grounds.
On September 15, around 7:30 a.m., school officials were alerted by the metal detector that there was a firearm in Gamble’s bag.
SROs were notified and responded to the metal detectors to secure the firearm and detain Gamble, according to RCSD.
Additionally, SROs were able to confirm that Gamble is the legal owner of the gun.
Investigators say she reportedly forgot the firearm was in her bag.
Gamble was charged with a carrying weapon on school property and taken to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
