Google working on catching nonconsensual images

(CNN)– Google is working to fight against the online distribution of non-consensual images.

The technology company is partnering with the nonprofit “Stop NCII”

NCII is short for non-consensual intimate imagery.

Through the technology from the nonprofit victims of image-based abuse can create digital fingerprints, or hashes of intimate images.

That information is then shared with other platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Onlyfans.

Those sites use the hashes to prevent re-uploading of the images without them having to be reported.
