Amazon subscription trial begins
(CNN)– The Federal Trade Commission’s long-awaited trial against Amazon gets underway this week.
The FTC filed the lawsuit in 2023 under the Biden Administration.
It accuses the e-commerce giant of tricking millions of customers into signing up for its Prime membership program, but making it hard for them to cancel their subscription.
Neither Amazon nor the FTC responded to requests for comment.
Amazon has previously denied any wrongdoing.
Jury selection began Monday, Sept. 22, and opening statements are set to begin Tuesday, Sept 23.
