Local Living: Okra Strut Festival, “Zoofari”, SCSO barbecue cook-off, SC State Fair

LOCAL LIVING: COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, the Town of Irmo is celebrating the 50th anniversary of their Okra Strut Festival this weekend.
It’s from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, September 26, and from 9 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, at Moore Park.
You can enjoy live music, the Okra Strut Parade, and all the okra you can eat at the free event.
Riverbanks Zoo is hosting a “Zoofari” experience later this week.
You can enjoy an evening of light cuisine, craft cocktails, and curator-led tours.
Tickets are $100 for the general public and $85 for Riverbanks members.
It takes place Friday, September 26th from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a barbecue cook-off and car show next month.
You and the family can win door prizes while enjoying barbecue.
The event is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 11 at the Sumter County Civic Center.
Admission is free.
The South Carolina State Fair is right around the corner.
Now through October 7th, you can purchase a discount admission ticket at participating Circle-K locations or online.
You can also enter a chance to win a family fair pack on the ABC Columbia website.
The state fair runs from October 8th through October 19th.
