Richland County Coroner identifies woman killed in shooting

 

 

 

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Richland County Coroner’s Office says the county coroner has identified a woman killed in a shooting last week.

The coroner says 70-year-old Maria Canales died in the shooting.

Deputies say Fred Gause Jr. is accused of fatally shooting Caneles on Monday.

He is also accused of shooting another man who was later taken to a hospital.

Investigators are still working to determine the connection to the victims.

Gause has been charged with multiple crimes, including murder.

He is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
