SLED: Georgia man charged with criminal conspiracy related to dogfighting

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– SLED has charged a man with criminal conspiracy and two counts of ill treatment of animals, according to agents.

South Carolina Law Enforcement Division agents say Patrick Oneal Heard, 47, was charged on Friday, September 19.

Heard was arrested at a dogfight in an wooded area in Eastover on April 20, 2024.

SLED says the dogfight was an organized, high-stakes dogfight with $80k seized.

Heard was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County.
