SLED investigating fire at vacant plant in Camden

CAMDEN, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating a fire at a vacant plant in Camden.

The massive fire happened Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Deroyal Textile Building.    

Camden Assistant Fire Chief Chris Tidwell says the property has been turned back over to Deroyal, who is overseeing demolition and site management moving forward.

The building was vacant at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
