3 face drug, gun charges after deputies act on community tip
LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A community tip led investigators with the Lexington County Multiagency Narcotics Enforcement Team to Charleston Highway earlier this month, said investigators.
According to Lexington County Jay Koon, a tip came in that Sammie Green was going to be in the area on Sept. 16 with a large amount of methamphetamine.
“With help from Cayce police officers, investigators found Green in his vehicle, along with Wyatt Ryan James and Daidr’ea Torres,” Lexington County Jay Koon said.
Koon said the investigators established probable cause to search the vehicle and James ran away, but was caught moments later.
“That’s when we found out James discarded a bag containing just shy of one pound of meth,” Koon said.
Additionally, investigators said Green and James both had guns on them.
Green is accused of having pills consistent with pressed fentanyl pills, which prompted a fentanyl possession charge against him.
Green, James, and Torres were all charged with trafficking meth.
Also, Green and James were both charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Both men are in the Lexington County Detention Center, and Torres was released after meeting the conditions of her bond set by a magistrate judge.
