Law enforcement: Former RCSD deputy arrested for DUI

RICHLAND CO., S.C. (WOLO) – A former Richland County Sheriff’s deputy has been arrested for DUI, say officials.

According to Highway Patrol, troopers arrested Christopher Duke, 45, following a traffic stop for speeding on Saturday around 7 p.m.

Authorities say he was off duty and in his personal car.

Sheriff Leon Lott says he was immediately suspended without pay and is no longer employed with the Sheriff’s Department; his most recent assignment was as the Major of the Uniform Patrol Division and he served with RCSD for 22 years.

Duke is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
