COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A Midlands wife is getting a new car after her husband won playing the lottery, said lottery officials.

SC Lottery officials say, the husband won the half-a-million dollar windfall on a $10 scratch-off ticket he purchased at the City Fuel & Food on Bush River Road in Columbia.

“It was a life changing experience, I’m still in shock,” he told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.

The man’s wife is not the only lucky one, as the winner is also getting himself a car too.

“I’m getting a used, cheap car to drive,” the husband says.

Odds of winning $500,000 in the Red Hot Bonus game are 1 in 1,500,000 but lottery officials say one top prize remains in the game.
