COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia-Richland 1st shift crews were about to put out a fire at an apartment on S. Edisto Avenue Tuesday morning, said the fire dept.
Crews arrived to the scene shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, to find smoke showing from a front bedroom of the unit.
Firefighters quickly made entry and got the fire under control and extinguished it.
The occupant of the apartment was home when the fire broke out and he escaped safely, according to Columbia-Richland Fire Dept.
At least one person has been left displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
