City of Columbia announces closure of Woodcreek Farms Road Bridge for public safety

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The City of Columbia says Woodcreek Farms Road, between Woodcreek Ridge Drive and Beaver Lake Drive has been closed after findings from a routine annual bridge inspection.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) says the bridge failed inspection, and notified the city.

After being notified about the failed inspection, the city determined that the bridge requires closure until further notice to ensure public safety.

Drivers should use Jacobs Mill Pond Road or Spears Creek Church Road as alternate routes if needed.

City officials say the road will remain closed as officials work to assess the bridge and determine the next steps.
