SCSO: Woman arrested after reported assault at Lakewood High School

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter County deputies are investigating a reported assault that happened at a high school, said deputies.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office has opened an investigation into a report alleging that a staff member who was identified as Marceeda Lynett Walker assaulted a special needs student at Lakewood High School.
On Tuesday afternoon, October 14, the sheriff’s office received a call reporting that the alleged incident occurred on September 10, 2025.
Deputies began the investigation after receiving the report.
“This is a disturbing report, and we will thoroughly investigate it to determine the facts. Our response will be guided by the results of that investigation,” Sheriff Anthony Dennis said.
Walker was taken to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
