SLED charges Orangeburg County man with animal fighting

 

 

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has charged a 53-year-old man with animal fighting or baiting and ill treatment of animals, said agents.

Agents said, Christopher Corbitt was charged on Wednesday, Oct. 15.

During the search of a home,  SLED Agents along with assisting law enforcement agencies located over 1 pound 3 ounces of meth, 24 grams of cocaine, a quarter kilo of fentanyl powder, a quantity of THC vape cartridges, 5 oxycodone pills, 2 handguns, 4 vehicles, an electronic currency counting machine, and $22,421 in United States currency.

Additionally, with assistance from shelters in South Carolina, 24 pit bull-type dogs with various scarring, consistent with dogfighting were rescued from their living conditions.

Corbitt was booked into the Orangeburg County Detention Center.
