SPD: Two men are charged after drugs found at Brand Street home

 

 

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– Two men are being charged after police say drugs, guns, and cash was found at a Brand Street home.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, the Sumter Police Department and the FBI-Columbia Bureau found 8 lbs. of marijuana, a kilo of cocaine, 62 grams of
crack cocaine, 135 grams of methamphetamine, two firearms and $5,600 in cash while serving a search warrant on Oct. 9, say Sumter Police.

Also, during the search Perry Sherrod Taft, 65, and Marquis Quintell Durant, 37, were arrested at the scene.

Taft is being charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, trafficking crack cocaine (more than 28 grams and less than 100 grams), and trafficking cocaine (more than 200 grams and less than 400 grams).

Durant is charged with trafficking cocaine (more than 400 grams), trafficking crack cocaine (more than 28 grams and less than 100 grams), possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a machine gun and two counts of felon in possession of a firearm.

Both men were booked at the county detention center and remain in custody.
