SCDNR gives tips on cleaning birdfeeders

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Backyard bird watchers listen up, the SC Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) says the time is now to give your bird feeders a good cleaning.

Officials with SCDNR say regularly cleaning your feeders helps prevent the spread of Avian Disease.

SCDNR recommends soaking feeders in warm, soapy water, and scrubbing thoroughly with brushes, and to use a solution of one part bleach to nine parts water for seed feeders.
