Social Security benefits to increase in 2026

(CNN)– Social Security benefits are going up slightly next year.

In 2026, Social Security recipients will get 2.8% more per month.

Despite the increase, a lot of seniors say the yearly adjustments haven’t kept up with their rising costs.

Next year’s increase is higher than the two-and-a-half percent cost-of-living-adjustment beneficiaries got this year.

However, it was a lot less than the increases they got in prior years when inflation was spiking during and after the pandemic.
