Orangeburg County coroner identifies Claflin University senior that collapsed in gym

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office says Coroner Sean Fogle has identified the Claflin University student that collapsed in the school’s gym.

The student collapsed on Sunday, October 26, while playing basketball in Claflin University’s gym.

EMS arrived to the gym to performing life saving measures and took the student to MUSC Health Orangeburg, according to the coroner’s office.

Coroner Fogle identified the person as Claflin University Senior Savion Brown, 21, of Charlotte, N.C.

An autopsy is scheduled for later this week.
