Victim identified in Bellingham Road fatal shooting Saturday

RICHLAND CO., S.C. (WOLO) – The Richland County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal shooting Saturday.

Coroner Naida Rutherford identified the victim as Chance M. Brooks, 23, of Columbia, S.C.

According to Columbia Police, they responded to the shooting at the 3400 block of Bellingham Road at 11:30 p.m., and found Brooks shot outside.

Officers administered life-saving techniques until EMS arrived, but Brooks was pronounced dead at the hospital.

This incident remains under investigation.
