SLED charges Richland County man in connection with carrying weapon on SC State campus
ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is charging an 18-year-old after agents say he was carrying a weapon on SC State campus.
Treveion James Crawford, 18, is being charged with carrying a weapon on school property.
Agents say Crawford was seen on camera with a handgun in the courtyard area of Hugine Suites.
Crawford is accused of having the gun inside a gray colored vest, that he was wearing.
He was booked into the Orangeburg County Detention Center.
Agents say they seen the footage of Crawford while originally investigating two shootings that happened on the evening of Saturday, October 4, at SC State.
During one of the shootings 19-year-old Jaliyah Butler was killed, and during the second shooting a man was injured.
Investigators do not believe the shootings are connected at this time, and are continuing to investigate.
