Sumter PD investigating report of candy tampering
SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter Police are investigating after receiving a report of sharp objects found in candy following a Halloween event Thursday, say police.
Officers received the report after 7 p.m. from a family who said they were inspecting the candy when they discovered some pieces had been tampered with.
Sumter Police Department encourages parents and guardians to put safety first on Halloween, and inspect the candy children receive while trick or treating door to door or from organized events.
If you suspect a problem call law enforcement immediately.
