Allen Handles Morehouse on the Road, 28-17, as Season Finale Looms Large
ATLANTA, GA – The Allen University Yellow Jackets continued their late-season surge with a 28–17 road victory over Morehouse College, putting together back-to-back 28-point performances and showcasing a balanced, explosive offense and a swarming, opportunistic defense.
Coming off a dominant win over Tuskegee, Allen (4-5, 4-3 SIAC) showed no signs of slowing down against the Maroon Tigers (3-6, 3-4 SIAC). Junior quarterback Jamir Dismukes delivered a surgical performance under center, completing 16 of 23 passes for 268 yards and 3 touchdowns, including a 49-yard strike to Marcus Fleming and a 75-yard bomb to Mike Bowman that stunned the home crowd.
Offense Heating Up at the Right Time
This Yellow Jacket offense is clicking on all cylinders—and just in time.
Dismukes spread the ball around with composure and confidence. Sophomore Marcus Fleming continued his standout season with 4 catches for 86 yards and 2 touchdowns, while sophomore tight end Mike Bowman added 3 receptions for 94 yards and a score, his physicality and speed posing matchup problems all afternoon.
On the ground, Fabian Duncan served as the workhorse yet again, grinding out 93 yards on 23 carries, helping Allen sustain drives and dominate time of possession in key moments.
Defense Delivers Again
Just like last week, the defense came up big—both in the trenches and in the secondary.
Ja’mel Patterson led the team with 10 total tackles and also had an interception, while Amarie Fleming added 2.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks, disrupting Morehouse’s rhythm in the backfield.
Sophomore Defensive Back Tryeshon Freeman also had an interception, while Freshman Anthony Waddler and Sophomore Lance Carson combined for 4 tackles for loss, showing that Allen’s front seven is both young and dangerous. In coverage, Bryce Jordan recorded 2 pass breakups, and Cherry Ja’Darius added a crucial tackle for loss and a deflection.
This defensive unit is fast, physical, and starting to gel at the perfect time.
Destiny Awaits: A.M.E. Classic Showdown on Deck
Allen couldn’t have picked a better time to peak. With momentum firmly on their side, the Yellow Jackets now prepare for one of the biggest games in program history: Homecoming. Senior Day. And the coveted A.M.E. Classic Trophy on the line.
This Saturday at 2PM, Allen will host out-of-state rival Edward Waters University in what promises to be a high-stakes, high-energy clash. Not only is the A.M.E. Classic title up for grabs—but postseason positioning and bragging rights hang in the balance.
