Cayce PD investigation led to multiple arrests

 

 

CAYCE, S.C. (WOLO)– CPD says an investigation into an assault lead to the arrest of multiple people, and the seizure of firearms and narcotics.

Officers say the Cayce Police Department was contacted by a victim on October 23 who reported being assaulted the day before in the Riverland Park neighborhood of Cayce.

During the investigation, Cayce detectives determined that Micala Nicole Baucom and Jennifer Marie Owens assaulted the victim, while Casey Taylor Price hit the victim repeatedly on the head with a handgun.

Detectives also say Stephen Allen Rhein was present during the assault and was allegedly armed at the time of the incident.

In the early morning hours of November 7, Cayce PD’s Criminal Investigations Division assisted by the Street Crimes Unit, the Lexington County NET Team, and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Firearm Detection K9, executed a search warrant at 520 Riverside Lane.

While at the address officers located and seized multiple firearms including handguns and assault rifles as well as a large quantity of narcotics, according to Cayce Police.

Micala Nicole Baucom is being charged with assault & battery of a high and aggravated nature; PWID heroin; PWID methamphetamine; trafficking fentanyl (7.8g); and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Baucom’s bond was set at $165,000 cash only.

Casey Taylor Price is being charged with assault & battery of a high and aggravated nature; possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and Price’s bond was denied.

Jennifer Marie Owens had warrants issued for assault & battery of a high and aggravated nature; PWID heroin; possession of methamphetamine (3rd or subsequent offense).

Stephen Allen Rhein is being charged with two counts of possession of firearms and ammunition by persons convicted of certain crimes, and Rhein’s bond was denied.

Price, Baucom, and Rhein are being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.

Owens is currently being held at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center pending resolution of a GSC Bench Warrant and will be taken to Lexington County upon release.
