Newberry County investigators working on cause of fire after 2 people found dead inside burning home

 

NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Newberry County investigators are working on the cause of a fire where two people were found dead inside a burning home.

Authorities say they responded to Windsong Hill Drive at 6:30 a..m. on Friday, Nov. 14.

When they arrived to the home, it was 80% engulfed, making rescue attempts impossible.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within minutes of arrival and found 44-year-old April Long and 73-year-old Leroy Seegers dead inside.

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed this week.
