RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott says a second person has been arrested in connection with a homicide that happened on Nearview Avenue.
An investigation revealed that Semieon Helton-Hill was the driver of the suspect’s vehicle during the murder that happened in the 1700 block of Nearview Avenue on November 11.
Law enforcement say Helton-Hill drove away from the scene after Jordan Lemmon fatally shot 18-year-old Dion Briggs who was attempting to purchase a firearm from Lemmon.
Early Wednesday morning, November 19, Helton-Hill was located by RCSD’s Fugitive Task Force in Sumter at a family member’s home and taken into custody.
Investigators say during a search of the home, deputies located two firearms, and one of them is reported as stolen.
Helton-Hill was taken back to Richland County and booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
He is charged with murder and criminal conspiracy, and is awaiting a bond hearing.
