RCSD: Deputy hits pedestrian with car

Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)–Officials with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department say one of their deputies hit a pedestrian with their car last night.

A spokesperson for the department says at 6:20PM, the deputy saw a car run a red light.
Investigators say as the deputy began to pursue the car, they hit a pedestrian who was crossing the road at Green Lawn and Leesburg Rd.
Officials say the man’s injuries were not life threatening.
The South Carolina Highway patrol is investigating.
