Restaurant reservations rise for Thanksgiving

(CNN)– Restaurants are seeing a spike in reservations for Thanksgiving.

According to booking platform Open Table, restaurant reservations for the holiday are 13% higher year-over-year.

It comes at a time when the cost of groceries are climbing.

However, it’s unlikely a Thanksgiving meal will cost less at a restaurant.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics finds that restaurant prices are rising faster than grocery prices and overall inflation.

But, the National Restaurant Association says menu prices in September saw their slowest monthly increase in a year-and-a-half.
