Gasoline prices in South Carolina rise slightly, but remain lower than last month

Average gasoline prices in South Carolina rose slightly over the last week, increasing 2.8 cents to an average of $2.65 per gallon on Monday, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 3,028 stations across the state.

Despite the uptick, prices remain 3.2 cents lower than a month ago and 6 cents lower than this time last year, the report said. Diesel prices nationwide fell 5.1 cents over the past week, averaging $3.67 per gallon.

GasBuddy reported the cheapest station in South Carolina was selling gas for $2.32 per gallon on Sunday, while the most expensive was listed at $3.49, a difference of $1.17.

Nationally, the average price of gasoline dropped 5 cents over the last week to $2.90 per gallon. That average is down 17.6 cents from a month ago and 7.3 cents from a year ago, based on GasBuddy’s analysis of more than 11 million weekly price reports from over 150,000 stations nationwide.
