Columbia PD searching for driver accused of hitting child, leaving scene

 

 

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Officers with Columbia PD’s Traffic Safety Unit are working to identify, and locate a driver who is accused of hitting a child, and leaving the scene, says the police dept.

Officer say the driver of a dark-colored Sedan hit a child who was a pedestrian, around 4:45 p.m. in the 5200 block of Fairfield Road, before leaving the scene.

The 12-year-old child was attempting to cross the street when he was hit by the car.

Investigators say the child was at a hospital for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
