Gamecocks add Kendal Briles, two other coaches to offensive staff

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– It’s official, Thursday the University of South Carolina Board of Trustees approved the contracts of three new assistant football coaches.

Kendal Briles is joining the staff as offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach.

Prior to coming to USC, Briles served as the associate head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterback coach at TCU.

The Gamecocks also added Stan Drayton as running backs coach and Randy Clements as offensive line coach.

Drayton comes to Columbia from Penn State.

Clements previously coached at TCU alongside Briles.

The new offensive coaches look to revive a Gamecocks offense that finished near the bottom in the SEC.
