RCSD: 1 person taken to hospital with gunshot wound

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a call in relation to a suspicious person on Friday morning, says the sheriff’s dept.

RCSD says around 1 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, deputies went to the 10,000 block of Two Notch Road, and found a person on the ground with a gunshot wound to his midsection.

Deputies administered first aid until EMS arrived to the scene and took the victim to a local hospital.

Investigators say surveillance video taken in the area lead to the arrest of Mikalo Coles.

He is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
