RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– RCSD is investigating after an overnight shooting that left one person dead and another injured, say deputies.
On December 12, around 9:30 p.m. deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 7500 block of Hunt Club Road.
When deputies arrived to the scene, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his midsection.
Deputies provided medical aid to the victim until EMS arrived and took the victim to a local hospital.
While deputies were circulating the area for additional evidence, they found two firearms.
According to Richland County Sheriff’s Department, one of the guns were found inside a home, and another was found outside on the ground.
Shortly after investigators arrived on scene to the hospital the victim was taken to, another gunshot wound victim also arrived.
Investigators were made aware this second male victim had a gunshot wound to the upper body, and was pronounced dead upon arrival to the hospital.
Also, investigators were able to conclude that both gun shot wound victims were related to the same incident.
This is an active and ongoing investigation.
