2 Sumter daycare workers arrested on child abuse charges

 

 

 

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Two Sumter daycare workers were arrested on Monday afternoon on child abuse charges, according to SCSO.

Deputies say both 45-year-old Denetra Bracey, and 19-year-old Candice Elizabeth Hudson are being charged with unlawful conduct towards a child after a representative from the Department of Social Services (DSS) contacted the sheriff’s office.

Investigators say DSS contacted Sumter Co. Sheriff’s Office in regards to alleged child abuse at the Care-A-Lot Daycare in Dalzell.

Denetra Bracey’s was charged with one count of unlawful conduct towards a child.

While Candice Elizabeth Hudson was charged with four counts of unlawful conduct towards a child.

Both Bracey and Hudson were taken to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center and have been released on bond.

SCSO says this incident remains under investigation.
